Jenna Fischer is best known for playing Pam Beesly on the acclaimed TV show The Office For her role, she won an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress as well as Two SAG Awards for Outstanding Performance from An Ensemble Comedy.
Her mother, Anne, performed in church plays when she was young that instilled a love of performance and theater in Jenna. Jenna spent her childhood watching her mother Anne who was a church performer. It instilled in her an interest in theater.
After finishing The Office, Fischer, a theater-trained actress returned to her roots. The Off-Broadway production Reasons to be Happy written by Neil LaBute with Josh Hamilton and Leslie Bibb as co-stars, Fischer starred. Following her appearance in Steve Martin's latest play Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy featuring Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg), she performed in at the Old Globe Theatre's record-breaking world premiere.
In October 2019, Fischer and The Office actor and friend Angela Kinsey began a podcast called Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform. The podcast has since become wildly popular, landing on the Top Ten globally every week and receiving over 200 million downloads within the first two years. Office Ladies received the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year award in the month of January in 2021.
She is the writer of two books. The Actor's Life The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide that describes her journey through St. Louis to Hollywood to become a working actor, as well as the upcoming Office BFF's: Tales of The Office From Two of the Best Friends That Were There (co-authored together with Angela Kinsey), which is the story of their greatest friendship and time working for The Office.
