Katherine Heigl reveals that she was brought up in a white bubble, and how this realization affected the way she cared for her adoptive, multiracial children. In an interview, the "Firefly Lane" and "Grey's Anatomy" actress shared that her appearance didn't concern her, however, after talking to her adoptive sister from South Korea about how society was treating them, she became aware of the stark differences they were. "I asked my sister, Meg, if she had been treated one way while walking around with our parents, and another way when she went out by herself without them. Meg responded "Oh yes! All the time!" Heigl said to Parents, "That made me realise that I was so naive." She said that she was angry and felt the need to use this anger to support her daughters. Heigl as well as her husband of 13 years -- the singer Josh Kelley -- have four-year-old son Joshua Bishop Kelley, Joshua Bishop Kelley, Jr. The couple took in Nancy Leigh (age 12) from South Korea and Adalaide (age 8), who is black in 2009.
