Richard B. Cheney a notable politician and businessman, is vice-president of the United States. Cheney known as a popular figure in Washington politics, worked for four presidents in the US. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush picked Cheney in July 2000 as his running mate and noted Cheney's judgment and insight. Dick Cheney served as the chief of staff to a president, served as a member of Congress and secretary of defence. He is someone with integrity and is loved by all Republicans as well as Democrats. Cheney explained that his responsibility as an adviser in Bush's administration is to serve as an unassuming but trustworthy advisor. Cheney has accepted the Republican Vice Presidential nomination in 2007, said the he is looking forward to having a President who is willing to work across political lines to engage with opposition with good faith and a common goal. Richard Bruce Cheney was born in Lincoln Nebraska on January 30 1941, the son of Richard Herbert Cheney and the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. At 13 years old, he left the state of Nebraska. old, he emigrated with his family in Casper which is located within western region of Wyoming, where his father directed the local soil conservation district in the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
